Trembley in '08

The Kickoff

August 23, 2007|By ROCH KUBATKO

Is anyone else surprised that the Orioles already decided to bring back Dave Trembley as manager next season, rather than wait to see who becomes available or expresses interest?

(I'm not saying they should have waited. Just wondering if you're surprised.)

The Orioles were 29-25 under Trembley before yesterday.

Watching another episode of The Bronx Is Burning on Tuesday night reminded me how former Oriole Paul Blair had the winning hit in Game 1 of the 1977 World Series, after failing to lay down a bunt.

I still don't remember him having an Afro, though. And he doesn't either, pointing out that's pretty much the only inaccuracy in the ESPN program.
