Corrections & Clarifications

August 17, 2007

An article in the Maryland section of yesterday's editions of The Sun about a bus crash in Carroll County incorrectly identified the owner of the bus involved in the accident. The company was Change Inc.

An article in the Maryland section yesterday misspelled the name of a city police spokesman. His name is Sterling Clifford.

An article in the Today section Wednesday incorrectly stated that Edgar Allan Poe died in Fells Point in 1849. The author died a few blocks north at what was then known as Washington College Hospital on the corner of Broadway and Fairmount Avenue in East Baltimore.

The Sun regrets the errors.

CLARIFICATION

A headline on Page 1A of yesterday's editions of The Sun said that homeless people were "booted" from a city street. While homeless persons interviewed by The Sun said they were forced to leave, the Downtown Partnership insisted in the article and again yesterday that its workers were merely clearing trash from the area. The headline should not have adopted one party's point of view.
