Mildred L. Bradley, a retired Social Security Administration claims examiner, died Friday of respiratory failure at St. Agnes Hospital. The longtime West Baltimore resident was 75.

Born Mildred Lee Warren in Baltimore, she was raised on Preston Street. After graduating from Dunbar High School in 1949, she worked for several years as a nurse's aide at Sinai Hospital.

Mrs. Bradley began working for SSA in 1961 and was assigned as a claims examiner at the agency's headquarters in Woodlawn and later at Metro West in downtown Baltimore. She retired on a medical disability in 1990.

Her husband of 33 years, Henry Bradley, a tailor, died in 2000.

She was a lifelong member of Enon Baptist Church, at Edmondson Avenue and Schroeder Street, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.

Surviving are a son, James Harris Jr. of Baltimore; a daughter, Linda L. Warren of Baltimore; two brothers, Adam Warren Sr. of Cleveland and Eugene Warren of Baltimore; three sisters, Adele W. Queen of Glen Burnie, Helen W. Bland of Columbus, Ohio, and Catherine W. Hampton of Los Angeles; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. An earlier marriage to James Harris Sr. ended in divorce.
