Ravens' Barnes already a big hit

August 15, 2007|By DAVID STEELE

Bart Scott didn't want to call what the Ravens have going on defense the past several years a "farm system." But that's exactly what it is. He's a product of it, one of many. Antwan Barnes seems to be the latest, if his NFL preseason debut Monday night is any indication.

"We have a way of grooming young talent," Scott said after the Ravens' 29-3 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at M&T Bank Stadium. "And they represent themselves very well. They played tough in their first game. There was a lot of emotion going on. They had a chance to make a lot of mental errors but didn't make a lot, and they always played hard."
