Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Baltimore

Eastern

Victim identified -- Police yesterday identified Taavon Mitchell, 27, of the 3800 block of Lyndale Ave. as the man shot by an unknown assailant about 11 p.m. Aug. 7 in the 1400 block of N. Milton Ave. Mitchell died a short time later at Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made in the shooting.

Victim named -- A man found shot in the chest in the 2300 block of E. Oliver St. on Aug. 8 and who died at Johns Hopkins Hospital that day has been identified as Joseph Bryant, 29, of the 4300 block of Stanwood Road in Northwood. No arrest had been made.

Northwestern

Shootings -- A man and a woman were each shot about 9 p.m. yesterday in the 3700 block of Manchester Ave. and were taken to Sinai Hospital, where the woman was treated for a bullet wound to the back and the man a wound to his left arm. Their names were not released and details were not available.

Victim identified -- Troy Richardson, 30, of the 1700 block of Manor Ave. in Dundalk, Baltimore County, has been identified as the man shot in the 3400 block of Dupont Ave. in Central Park Heights Aug. 9 and who died a short time later at Sinai Hospital.

Western

Shooting -- Kenyon McClain, 31, was reported in critical but stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after he was shot in the abdomen about 11 p.m. Saturday while standing in an alley in the 1700 block of W. Lafayette Ave. No arrest had been made, and police had no motive for the shooting.

Stabbings -- Police were seeking several young men in the stabbings early Sunday evening of two teenage boys during an altercation in the 1500 block of Presstman St. Both victims were being treated at the Johns Hopkins Hospital's pediatric intensive care unit. Their conditions were not available.

Southern

Shooting -- An 18-year-old man was being treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center for injuries sustained when he was shot by an unknown man in the 1200 block of Edwight Court about 11:45 p.m. Saturday. The victim was found on Hyden Court.

Arrest -- Two men were arguing in the 3500 block of Fourth St. in Brooklyn on Saturday evening when one stabbed the other in the left hand with an 8-inch-long knife. The victim was treated at Harbor Hospital. Mark Frazier, 44, of the 500 block of N. Crain Highway in Glen Burnie was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon.

Assault/arrest -- A woman was stabbed in the left arm by a woman she knew in the 1600 block of Filbert St. on Saturday evening. The 25-year-old victim was treated at Harbor Hospital. Sara Werts, 25, of the first block of Sycamore Road was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon.

Baltimore County

Pikesville

Burglary -- Police were seeking whoever broke into Moses Montefiore Synagogue in the 7000 block of Rockland Hills Drive early Sunday and attempted to remove a safe. Anyone with information is urged to call the precinct at 410-887-1279.
