A male juvenile became the city's 190th homicide victim early today after he was shot in 3400 block of E. Baltimore St., city police reported.

Southeastern District officers responding to a report of a shooting in the Baltimore Highlands neighborhood about 11 o'clock last night found the youth bleeding from at least one gunshot wound, police said.

The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of family members, was taken by a city Fire Department ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center's trauma unit, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

No arrest had been made and police knew of no motive for the killing.

Linthicum man charged in Glen Burnie stabbing

Police have charged an 18-year-old man with attempted second-degree murder and several other offenses after police said a teen-ager was stabbed in Glen Burnie this weekend.

Justin Allen Alexander of the first block of Eleanor Ave. in Linthicum was charged with stabbing Douglas Michael Whitehead in the lower back, abdomen and left forearm with a folding pocket knife, according to Anne Arundel County police.

The stabbing occurred during an argument at a home in the 100 block of Linwood Ave. on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Whitehead was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. His condition was not released yesterday.
