An article in yesterday's Maryland section incorrectly stated the amount of permit fees the Jones Falls Watershed Association pays to the city for the shutdown of the Jones Falls Expressway for an annual festival. The fees vary between $5,000 and $6,000.

A photo caption that accompanied an article in yesterday's Sun incorrectly stated the length of time that Zachary Sowers, the victim of a beating near Patterson Park, has been in a coma. He has been in that state for more than two months.

A brief article in yesterday's Business section incorrectly reported the profit for FTI Consulting. Profit for FTI's second quarter, which ended June 30, rose 82 percent to $23.1 million from $12.7 million during the corresponding quarter of 2006. Because of the error, the article mischaracterized the effect of the Baltimore company's expenses on its earnings. In fact, the earnings increase was driven by a 50 percent rise in revenue to $239.7 million compared with a year earlier.

The Sun regrets the errors.
