Man dies 4 months after shooting

August 01, 2007

A man died Saturday afternoon at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, four months after he was shot on a West Baltimore street, police said yesterday.

His name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, said a Police Department spokeswoman. No arrest has been made.

The slaying increases the city's homicide toll to 183 this year, compared with 160 at the time last year, said Officer Nicole Monroe, the spokeswoman.

About 12:10 a.m. March 20, Southwestern District police responding to a report of a man shot in the 2900 block of Mosher St. in Rosemont found the victim lying in the street bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds to the body, said Monroe.

Monroe said the man was taken by ambulance to Shock Trauma, where he remained unconscious and in critical condition until he died shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday.
