Arundel man charged in business burglaries

June 30, 2007

A Glen Burnie man has confessed to committing at least a dozen late-night burglaries of businesses in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Harford counties after being caught breaking into a Chinese restaurant in Millersville, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

A covert surveillance team set up by three police departments and the state police was following Patrick Francis Alfaro, 36, of the 400 block of Valiant Circle, about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday when they saw him break into the Peking Star Restaurant in Old Mill Plaza.

Alfaro was arrested and admitted to being involved in 10 burglaries in Anne Arundel County alone.

A police spokesman could not say where or when they took place and did not have any information about burglaries that he was suspected of committing in other jurisdictions.

Alfaro was charged with second-degree burglary in Anne Arundel County.

He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $300,000 bail.
