Hanger Orthopedic Group Inc., based in Bethesda, acquired the assets of Texas-based Paris O&P Inc., expanding its reach in the Southwest market.

Awards

Ernst & Young LLP announced the winners of its annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Maryland. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges composed of area leaders from business, academic and civic organizations. The winners by category are:

MGH of Owings Mills received three Hermes Creative Awards and two Communicator Awards. The awards, given for public relations creativity and excellence, are presented annually by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

Contracts

MICROS Systems Inc. said the Columbia company has contracted to supply Hard Rock International with MICROS Simphony point-of-sales stations for the more than 60 company-owned locations in the United States and Europe.

Avatech Solutions Inc. will provide SPL Integrated Solutions with implementation of AutoCAD Electrical software. The Baltimore firm will also provide consulting and training services.

New clients

John Yuhanick Associates said the Baltimore agency has signed pacts to act as agency of record for the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship in golf and the Maryland Race for the Cure.

Vitamin has signed Cathedral Stone Products to its client portfolio. The Baltimore design and marketing agency will act as the Hanover firm's exclusive branding partner.

Open

Scottrade, an online investment firm, will open its Baltimore office Monday at 1425 Reisterstown Road in the Centre Court Shopping Center.

Organizations

Deana Sump, a marketing manager with Clifton Gunderson, was elected a director of the Baltimore chapter of the American Marketing Association.
