A Baltimore jury yesterday convicted a 22-year-old man for his participation in killing a 17-year-old and injuring another young man in July last year during an argument over whether the victims were members of the Bloods gang, city prosecutors said.

Demetries Sturgis was convicted of second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Rasheed Stevenson and first- and second-degree assault in the stabbing of Larry Reed. City Circuit Judge Kaye A. Allison scheduled sentencing for Aug. 14.

The state's attorney's office said the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. July 18 in the 400 block of Whitridge Ave. Prosecutors said Stevenson was stabbed 11 times and Reed was stabbed in the cheek, underarm and thigh.
