Play it again -- Orioles 7, Diamondbacks 1

WEBB STRUGGLES

Arizona right-hander Brandon Webb couldn't find the form that made him the National League Cy Young winner last season. But he didn't get much help from his defense, either. Third baseman Chad Tracy made two errors, helping the Orioles to a four-run second inning. Chris Young also failed to make a play on Jay Gibbons' two-run double in the third. In five innings, Webb struck out seven but allowed six hits and two walks. Only three of the Orioles' seven runs off him were earned.

FLIRTING WITH NO-NO

Daniel Cabrera's bid for a no-hitter wasn't nearly as dramatic as his performance last September, when he came within two outs of no-hitting the New York Yankees. But Cabrera made things interesting for a while at Chase Field. Former Oriole Eric Byrnes broke up the no-hit bid with a leadoff double in the sixth inning. Cabrera allowed one earned run, two hits and three walks and struck out six in six solid innings.

ROBERTS ROLLING

Second baseman Brian Roberts was 0-for-14 in last week's Washington Nationals series, his average dropping 18 points to .306. But Roberts has two hits or more in five of his past six games and is 9-for-18 in his past four games. Last night, he stung Webb with a two-run triple down the right-field line in the second inning and then a bases-empty homer in the fourth. It was the third home run of the year for Roberts, who continues to make a bid for a selection to the All-Star Game.

ON DECK

Orioles left-hander Brian Burres (3-2, 2.94) faces Arizona's veteran right-hander Livan Hernandez (5-5, 4.50) in the second game of the three-game set. Burres faced the Diamondbacks on Sunday, allowing three earned runs and striking out nine in seven innings of a no-decision. Hernandez is 3-1 with a 3.21 ERA in four career starts against the Orioles.
