Big brass

Bring the kids along to the Carroll Arts Center on Tuesday to see the U.S. Air Force's Heritage Brass Quintet perform. Adapted especially for children, the concert, "Bravo for Brass," will feature tunes about baseball, summertime and more. Various patriotic songs will be performed as well.

Quilt exhibit

Celebrate the women and quilts of Gee's Bend, Ala., on Saturday at the Walters Art Museum. As part of the exhibit Gee's Bend: The Architecture of the Quilt, Gee's Bend Community Day will feature a number of activities throughout the day, including quilt demonstrations, book signings, storytelling and musical performances. The galleries will be open to explore, and hands-on craft activities, such as quilt postcard-making, will be offered.

Potter bus tour

Though you still may be having trouble accepting the fact that your Hogwarts letter will never come, cheer up. The official Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Knight Bus Tour is coming to Baltimore tomorrow. Modeled after the Knight Bus described in the Harry Potter books, the bus will be open to visitors of all ages, who will be invited to climb aboard and discuss their thoughts about the book series. Who knows, maybe you'll even spot Stan Shunpike - if they've let him out of Azkaban, that is.

Hey, Parrot Heads, pull out your lawn chairs, blankets and dancing shoes and get ready for a night filled with your all-time favorite Jimmy Buffett hits, including "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville." The second annual "Action at the Square" outdoor movie series at Belvedere Square will kick off Saturday with the showing of Jimmy Buffett - Live at Wrigley Field, a recording of Buffett's September 2005 performance at the home of baseball's Chicago Cubs.
