Nationals update

Washington has won three straight road series for the first time since relocating from Montreal, coming within Sunday's loss of sweeping the Minnesota Twins. The Nationals remain in last place in the National League East, however. Dmitri Young was a late acquisition, but a good one. He ranks among the league's leading hitters. FoxSports.com has reported that the Nationals remain in trade talks regarding Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes. Closer Chad Cordero needs one more save to reach 100 for his career. Former Oriole Tony Batista is expected to play more in this series because of the designated hitter rule. He could move to first base, with Young being the DH. The Orioles took two of three from the Nationals last month at RFK Stadium, losing the final game after another bullpen meltdown to miss out on a sweep. The Orioles also took two of three against Washington last year at Camden Yards. Cabrera had five walks and four wild pitches in 4 2/3 innings in last season's finale, which the Nationals won, 9-5.
