AACC schedules executive breakfast

In partnership with the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative, Anne Arundel Community College will host a Balanced Scorecard Executive Breakfast and presentation at 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, 300 Light St.

The presentation will include information on executing business strategies.

The cost is $100.

Chamber plans mixer and breakfast

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold an after-hours mixer from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Watermark Journeys, City Dock in Annapolis. The cost is $10 in advance, $15 at the door and $25 for nonmembers.

The chamber will also hold a power breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. June 27 at the Rockfish, 400 Sixth St. in Eastport. The cost is $17 in advance, $22 at the door and $35 for nonmembers.

College official gets marketing honor

Marc Apter of Annapolis, associate vice president of marketing and public relations for St. Mary's College, has received the Governor's Award for Global Marketing from the Maryland Tourism Council.

Apter is credited with developing a classical musical festival held by St. Mary's College and the town of Alba, Italy, that is held each spring and summer at St. Mary's.

The next Alba Music Festival will be held July 20-Aug. 5.

BWI partnership to hold luncheon

The BWI Business Partnership will hold its annual luncheon meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 18 at the BWI Airport Marriott Hotel, 1743 W. Nursery Road in Linthicum.

The speaker will be Gary Kelly, vice chairman and chief executive officer of Southwest Airlines.

The luncheon is free or $20 for members, depending on membership level; and $40 for nonmembers.

Seminar to focus on building teams

RiverWest Marketing will offer a seminar, "Building Powerful Teams," from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. June 20 at its offices, 647 Ridgely Ave. in Annapolis.

The free seminar will cover ways to encourage effective teamwork, improve internal communications, increase productivity and boost profits.

Architect Harden joins Lukmire

Stephen M. Harden has joined Lukmire Partnership's Annapolis office as a registered project architect.

Harden will be responsible for managing projects including programming and construction.

Before joining the architectural firm, Harden was the principal of the architectural firm Studio 29 LLC.

Riva restaurant to mark opening

California Tortilla will celebrate the opening of its new restauarant at the Festival at Riva shopping center in Annapolis on June 19 with a free burrito and beverage to all customers from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The first 10 people in line will get a free burrito every week for a year. The next 20 will win a free burrito every week for a month.

Laura Richards of Annapolis owns the restaurant, along with the California Tortilla in Bowie.

A "burrito-cutting" ceremony will be held at noon.
