HCC and Belmont: a positive outcome

I am one of the hundreds of individuals who actively support, and have supported, the involvement of Howard Community College at the Belmont Inn and Conference Center. I was so pleased to see County Executive [Ken] Ulman and the County Council show the confidence in HCC to be the steward of this Howard County treasure.

Over the last two years, people from so many segments of the county have stepped forward to show their support for HCC: restaurateurs, hoteliers, leaders of large and small businesses, the Howard Chamber of Commerce, tourism officials, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, students and their parents, and concerned citizens of all kinds. They all saw the same thing - that the college's presence at Belmont is a positive outcome for education, businesses, and historic preservation.

The college is the best steward of Belmont and can be trusted to do what is right to benefit our entire community. I and so many others in our community are glad that HCC will have the opportunity to implement its vision.
