Surf's Up

Rating -- PG

What it's about -- A teen penguin surfer hotdogs his way to the top, learning some humbling lessons along the way.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Animated penguins, bodily function jokes, the voices of Jon Heder and Shia LaBeouf.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- Do what you do for love, not glory. Follow your bliss.

Violence -- A few surfing accidents, whales chasing penguins, penguin cannibals.

Language -- Very clean, with the odd trip to the potty.

Sex -- Flirting.

Drugs -- None.

Parents' advisory -- This clever send-up of surfing documentaries has the animation and low humor kids love and a sassy surf-culture savvy that will appeal to older teens and adults.

Ocean's Thirteen

Rating -- PG-13

What it's about -- The heist-happy gang gathers again to avenge an affront to one of the old guys in their ranks.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, George Clooney, Scott Caan, Casey Affleck.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- "As long as we have one idea, we shouldn't give up."

Violence -- Threats of it.

Language -- Very clean, for a grown-up caper comedy.

Sex -- Ellen Barkin.

Drugs -- Alcohol is consumed, with a "mickey" for a chaser.

Parents' advisory -- The least serious and most kid-accessible of the Ocean pictures, it sports a plot that's absurdly hard to follow - even for adults.
