A scout's take -- Reggie Willits, Los Angeles Angels' 26-year-old outfielder

June 03, 2007

Hitting -- He's a switch-hitter, a contact guy, he hits a lot of flares and his bat is in the zone a long time, and as a result he gets lots of base hits. He's not a power guy. He's got a good eye but was a big strikeout guy. He appears to have that straightened out.

Base running -- He is a very solid base runner. He fits the mold of what the Angels are all about. He's very aggressive. He's good at pushing the envelope.

Overall -- He's a terrific athlete. He gives you every ounce of energy he has. I think, for me, he's a borderline everyday player, but he is a terrific fourth outfielder. He can play all three outfield spots. He can throw enough to play right field.
