Suspended Padres C Josh Bard three games and fined him for aggressive actions, including making contact with umpire Ed Rapuano, during Thursday's game against Pirates.

CUBS -- Placed C Henry Blanco on 15-day DL, retroactive to Thursday. Purchased contract of C Koyie Hill from Triple-A Iowa.
