County seeking `boomer' volunteers

The Coordinator of Volunteers for Anne Arundel County will hold its annual June meeting at 11 a.m. Friday at Cafe Mezzanotte, 760 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

The meeting will feature a discussion on the topic of recruiting older volunteers (1946-1964).

Wayne Taylor, director of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, will be the featured speaker.

Tickets are $25 for members; $30 for membership and participation; $35 for nonmembers. RSVP by tomorrow .

Md. retailers select scholarship winners

The Maryland Retailers Association Educational Foundation has selected Morgan Maloney, a senior at Southern High School, to receive a $1,000 college scholarship. Maloney was one of five recipients selected from 90 applicants.

Selections were based on academic performance, extracurricular school activities and civic and community work.

Sanders employee wins regional honor

Erin McCloud, of Sanders Diamond Jewelers in Pasadena, has been named Employee of the Year by the Maryland-Delaware-Washington, D.C. Jewelers Association.

McCloud was chosen for her initiative in developing and maintaining Sanders Diamond Jewelers' Web site and e-commerce sales.

Z-CoiL opens store in Millersville

Z-CoiL, a pain-relief footwear store, has opened at 672 Old Mill Road, Suite O in Millersville.

Z-CoiL shoes are designed for people who suffer from foot, leg or back pain.

Chamber to hold trade show June 6

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce and the Network Referral Group will hold the "Star-Spangled Business to Business" trade show from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 6 in the Carriage Room at Laurel Park racetrack, Route 198 in Laurel.

A power networking breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Terrace Dining Room.

Golf tournament set for June 11

Opportunity Builders Inc. will hold its fourth annual Links Challenge Golf Tournament at 9 a.m. June 11 at Compass Pointe Golf Course, 9010 Fort Smallwood Road, Pasadena.

Businesswomen to meet June 13

The Maryland Capital Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will hold its monthly membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 13 at the Sheraton Hotel Annapolis, 173 Jennifer Road.

The meeting will include induction of officers for 2007-2008 and provide insight on volunteering with a not-for-profit organization.

The cost is $28 for members; $35 for nonmembers.
