Harford deputy quits amid inquiry

May 26, 2007|By Justin Fenton

A Harford County sheriff's deputy resigned last week amid an internal investigation into allegations of sexual impropriety, the agency said.

The deputy, whose name was not disclosed, had been accused of having consensual sex while on duty, according to sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the incident was a personnel matter. He was assigned to the agency's Community Action Response Team, the source said.

With an investigation complete, the deputy had requested a hearing, but resigned before the hearing took place, said Karen Kruger, a senior assistant county attorney for Harford County.
