Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Shooting -- A 20-year-old man whose name was not released was reported in critical condition at Sinai Hospital after he was shot at least once in the head during what appeared to be an exchange of gunfire with another person in the 3000 block of Spaulding Ave. about midnight Wednesday. Police said when the victim was found lying on the ground he was grasping an empty semiautomatic handgun that had been fired an unknown number of times. No arrest had been made.


Destruction of property -- Police were seeking the person who fired several shots from a semiautomatic weapon in the 2600 block of St. Benedict St. on Wednesday night, hitting the roof and side door of a parked and unoccupied 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer sport utility vehicle.


Stolen vehicle -- A 2002 Honda Civic with Virginia license-tag number of YBG4275 was stolen Thursday in the 500 block of S. East Ave.

Theft -- A Global Positioning System device valued at $400 and an earpiece for a radio were stolen Thursday from a 2004 Toyota parked in the 800 block of Fawn St.

Assault -- A 25-year-old woman was arrested about noon Thursday at her home in the 3700 block of Mount Pleasant St. and charged with aggravated assault. She was alleged to have threatened her husband, 26, with a knife during an argument.

Baltimore County


Arson -- Someone set fire to a house under construction in the 100 block of New Market Court early Thursday. The fire was extinguished in less than 30 minutes, and a damage estimate was not available. Anyone with information is urged to call the precinct at 410-887-0872.


Robbery -- A gunman entered a Dunkin' Donuts outlet in the 8000 block of Liberty Road about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday and ordered an employee to give him the contents of two cash registers. He fled with an undisclosed sum.

Burglary -- Jewelry, cash, a computer, sunglasses and clothing - all valued at $38,000 - were stolen from a townhouse in the 2100 block of Woodbox Lane on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Entry was through the front door.


Robbery -- A gunman robbed a KFC restaurant in the 200 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 7 p.m. Thursday.

Burglary -- A mountain bike of unknown value was stolen from a garage in the first block of Sherborne Court between May 19 and Wednesday.


Burglary -- Someone entered the lot at Waterview Auto Sales in the 1900 block of Old Eastern Ave. on Wednesday night or early Thursday and attempted to steal two cars by popping the ignitions. Failing that, the intruder broke into a third car and removed a compact disc player valued at $200.

Burglary -- Two stereo speakers were stolen Thursday from a townhouse in the 800 block of Maplecrest Road by someone who entered through a front window. The speakers were valued at $200.


Armed robbery -- An 18-year-old man was walking in the first block of Torlino Court about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when he was assaulted by a gunman who robbed him of $50, a set of keys, an iPod and a cell phone.
