Library announces staffing changes

Katie George has been promoted by the Howard County Library to teen programs coordinator.

The Columbia resident began her career with the library in 2002 as a library associate, specializing in children's programming. Most recently, she was teen specialist at the Miller branch in Ellicott City.

Herb Malveaux has been appointed assistant branch manager for the east Columbia library. He began his career with the library in 1989 as a library associate and was a young-adult specialist.

A former attorney working in Washington, Malveaux, who lives in Jessup, has been instrumental in creating the library's annual Law Day for teenagers and is host for debate tournaments for middle school students.

Tanya Malveaux has been promoted to Glenwood branch manager, overseeing staffing, circulation, programming and events at the western Howard County library branch.

She was hired as a children's librarian in 1985 and was most recently assistant branch manager and children's librarian at the Miller branch.

Joyce (Jaye) Holly has been appointed training coordinator for the library. She was manager of staff development at the National Aquarium in Baltimore and lives in Frederick.
