Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Baltimore

Eastern

Shooting -- A man in his early 20s was standing outside the Hess gasoline station in the 2100 block of Harford Road about 1 a.m. yesterday when someone tried to rob him of his necklace. A friend came to the victim's aid, but both were shot by the by the would-be robber, who then fled. The wounded men were treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for wounds that were not life-threatening.

Northern

Arrest -- Tremaine E. Washington, 19, was arrested at his home Wednesday in the 500 block of E. 43rd St. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Washington is charged with shooting Ricardo A. Paige, 54, whose body was found March 20 in a house on the same block. Police said Paige lived in the house while doing maintenance work.

Southwestern

Arrest -- Montray Scott, 17, of the 1000 block of N. Ellamont St. was arrested Wednesday on Normount Court on a warrant charging him as an adult with attempted murder in the shooting May 10 of a 20-year-old man in the 2200 block of Loyola Southway.

Southeastern

Shooting -- A 42-year-old man was walking in the 1500 block of Gough St. about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when a young man on a bike pulled out a gun and shot him in the left side and upper left leg. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Southern

Robbery -- An elderly male resident of the 100 block of W. Ostend St. was robbed Wednesday afternoon by three men, one of them posing as a city water department employee sent to inspect the dwelling for leaks. While the victim was in the basement with the phony inspector, two other men entered the dwelling and stole an undisclosed sum of cash, a coin collection valued at $3,000 and a ring valued at $300.

Central

Robbery -- Two men, one with a handgun, and a woman robbed a 29-year-old man of $80, three packs of cigarettes and medication about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the first block of N. Howard St.

Baltimore County

Parkville

Rape try/arrest -- Andrew Kelz of Cub Hill was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his home and charged with attempting to rape a woman who was selling carpet-cleaning products door-to-door that day.

Towson

Burglary -- Jewelry of unknown value was stolen Wednesday from the bedroom of a house in the 1200 block of W. Lake Ave. by someone who entered through a basement door.

Cockeysville

Burglary -- Someone broke into Eichhorn Printing Co. in the 100 block of Beaver Court through a rear door Tuesday or Wednesday and stole 800 pounds of metal printing plates and $75 cash.
