Hebron girls rout W. Lake in quarterfinals

The No. 1-ranked Mount Hebron girls lacrosse team routed Wilde Lake, 22-1, in the regional quarterfinals yesterday.

The host Vikings (15-1), whose 103-game winning streak ended late in the season, advanced to the regional semifinals for the 11th straight year.

Jackie Doherty scored four goals to lead Mount Hebron. Alicia Krause scored a goal and had three assists for the Vikings, who led 10-0 at the half.


Perry Hall Christian 8, Harford Christian 0 -- The Panthers (9-1) used strong pitching to defeat the visiting Eagles (11-5) to win the Maryland Association of Christian Schools Athletic Conference championship. Senior Nick Cicio (5-0) struck out 17 and did not allow a walk in a one-hitter. Cicio also hit a double and a triple.


Outdoor Track Championships -- The Archbishop Curley boys scored 109 points to win the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association title, and the McDonogh girls scored 180 to win the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland crown. Digital Harbor and Poly each scored 147 points to win a share of the Baltimore City boys title. Western scored 138 to win the girls title.
