Workshop slated on starting a business

SCORE Chapter 390 will be conducting a one-day workshop, "How to Start and Manage Your New Business," from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Big Vanilla Athletic Club's community meeting room, 1209 Ritchie Highway, Arnold.

The cost is $60 and includes lunch. Registration is required.

Chamber plans May events

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold the following events this month:

Golf Classic -- 10 a.m. Tuesday at Queenstown Harbor, 310 Links Lane. The cost is $190 for individual players, $700 for foursome. Registration and continental breakfast begin at 9 a.m.

Robert Andrew: the Salon and Spa Signature Mixer -- 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 1328 Main Chapel Way in Gambrills. The cost is $25 in advance, $35 at the door, $45 for nonmembers.

Power Breakfast -- from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. May 23 at Kaufmann's Tavern, 329 Gambrills Road, Gambrills. The cost is $17 in advance, $22 at the door for members, $35 for nonmembers.

Tech Council offers panel, workshop

The Anne Arundel Tech Council will hold the following activities this month:

Technology Workforce Roundtable from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp., 2660 Riva Road, Suite 200, Annapolis. Reservations required.

Government Contracting Workshop on Sales Strategy from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 124 Womack Drive, Annapolis. The cost is $25 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Reservations requested.

State official to speak at breakfast

The BWI Business Partnership will hold its monthly signature breakfast meeting from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport, 1739 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum.

The guest speaker will be Maryland Secretary of Business and Economic Development David W. Edgerley.

The breakfast meeting is free for members and $40 for others. Reservations are required by tomorrow.
