The lowdown -- Saturday, shop for flowers and plants at Cylburn Arboretum's annual Market Day. There will also be a flea market, used book sale, kids' activities and live music.

Celtic fest

The lowdown -- Don your kilt and head for the Fredrick Celtic Festival Saturday. There will be bagpipe music, Scottish and Irish dancing, Celtic foods and crafts, kids' activities and Gaelic football. A genealogy service will be free; members of 30 clans will answer questions about family heritage and tartan.

Posies 'n' jazz

The lowdown -- Start out your Saturday with a run and then explore historic Westminster at this year's Flower/Jazz Festival and 5K Run. The fair offers plants from local nurseries, more than 70 craft vendors, food and live jazz. Moms, look for a free gift at the information table.

If you go -- The runs will take place at Wakefield Valley Community Trail with a 200-yard dash at 8 a.m., the mile Fun Run at 8:15 a.m. and the timed 5K at 8:30 a.m. Wakefield Valley Community Trail is at Tahoma Farm Road.
