Feifs, Phipps combine for 7 goals

Seniors Chris Feifs and Michael Phipps combined for seven of Maryland's 12 goals to lead the No. 6 Terrapins (10-5) to a 12-4 victory over visiting Yale (7-6) on senior day yesterday. Feifs led the way with four goals.

Five seniors also stepped up defensively for the Terps as Paul Andrews, Ryan Clarke, Jay Feeley, Travis Holmes and Sean Sullivan combined for six ground balls and caused four turnovers.

No. 9 Princeton 8, Brown 7 -- Peter Trombino scored three goals and had an assist and Alex Hewit made 11 saves as the Tigers (10-3, 5-1 Ivy League) held off the visiting Bears (7-7, 1-5). The win was the 14th straight for Princeton over Brown and the ninth of those 14 to be decided by three goals or fewer.

Women

Salisbury 12, Mary Washington 11 -- The top-seeded Sea Gulls (18-1) successfully defended their Capital Athletic Conference title, beating the visiting second-seeded Eagles (14-6). It is Salisbury's fifth straight CAC title and seventh overall and qualified the Sea Gulls for the NCAA Division III tournament.

College of Notre Dame 13, Trinity 0 -- Lauren Terry scored three goals as the top-seeded Gators (14-2) routed the Tigers (0-10) in the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference tournament semifinals in Aurora, N.Y. Notre Dame will play Hood for the AWCC title at 2 p.m. today.

Hood 11, Wells 2 -- Laurie Burrier had two goals and four assists to lead the second-seeded Blazers (4-8) over the Express (2-16) in the AWCC tournament semifinals in Aurora, N.Y.

Cornell 13, Loyola 10 -- Despite three goals from Kate McHarg and two each from Kate Filippelli and Alicyn Brunnett, the Greyhounds (2-14) fell to the visiting Big Red (5-10) in their final game of the season.
