Cook Jr., Enoch Robinson

ENOCH ROBINSON COOK, JR., was born on October 5, 1921, in Glenwood County, Maryland. the oldest of Enoch, Sr., and Gladys Cook's nine children. He was always the perfect gentleman, a devoted husband and father. His career was long and varied: a Army Chef, a demotion expert, draftsman, radio/TV repairman and for 37 years a U.S. Postal mechanic. Enoch completed the eight grade which was the limit to Blacks in education in Howard County at the time. Prior to Enoch's marriage to Salonia B. Waters for 64 years and 10 months Enoch enlisted in the C-C's (Civilian Conservation Corp.). In 1982, Enoch retired as a postal employee illustrating a portrait defining a self made man. Matter of death is unknown due to an undefined infection terminating his life on April 18, 2007, at 85 years young and leaves 1 bereaved son, Enoch Robinson Cook, III, 1 brother Bernard Cook with 2 sisters Diana Cook and Sarah Cook, also a community of family and friends who love him. Memorial Service is at Good Shepard United Methodist Church, 3500 Roland Ave., Baltimore, Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 1 P.M., whereas Interment is a Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, Friday, July 6, 2007, 11 A.M.
