Aide to Bartlett to be in Jarrettsville

Rep. Roscoe G. Bartlett has announced that his grants director, Myra Kidd, will be in Jarrettsville the first Wednesday of every month, except July.

She will be at the Jarrettsville branch of the Harford County Public Library, 3722 Norristown Road, from 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Appointments are requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Residents can call toll-free 888-863-4581 for an appointment, or call Kidd at 202-731- 1869.

Harford Democrats to hold fundraiser

The New Harford Democratic Club will hold a Harford Salutes Democrats event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 at the Bel Air Armory.

Invited guests include Gov. Martin O'Malley, Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown, Comptroller Peter Franchot, Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler, Sens. Benjamin L. Cardin and Barbara A. Mikulski, and Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger.

Bel Air selling parking vouchers

Bel Air is offering vouchers for two-hour parking at a meter in the garage.

Parking vouchers come in books of five for $5. Each voucher is good for two hours at a meter in the garage at a cost of $1 per 2 hours

Vouchers are available at town offices, 39 Hickory Ave., and 705 E. Churchville Road.

Grant to benefit reading program

The Harford County Public Library Foundation has received a $13,500 grant from Bank of America to buy books for elementary-age children who complete the library's 2007 Summer Reading Program.

Children can register for the public library's Summer Reading Program beginning June 18. Participants read books throughout the summer and attend free programs.
