Indians update

The streaking Indians beat the Texas Rangers, 9-4, yesterday to complete the series sweep and secure their fifth straight win. They lead the American League Central by a game over the Detroit Tigers. Entering yesterday, slugging designated hitter Travis Hafner was fourth in the AL with a .373 average and five home runs. Hafner is 18 for his past 37 with four home runs and 11 RBIs. Center fielder Grady Sizemore entered yesterday tied for second in the AL with 20 runs. Second baseman Josh Barfield, acquired in an offseason trade with the San Diego Padres, broke out of an 0-for-19 slump with a single in the sixth inning yesterday. The Orioles have a 15-39 record at Jacobs Field and have lost 21 of their past 27 games there. They did go 4-2 against the Indians last year, including posting a 2-1 record at Cleveland.
