Athletics update

The A's, tied for the lead in the American League West, had won four in a row before losing to the Texas Rangers, 7-0, on Saturday. The shutout came one night after they scored a season-high 16 runs. Rich Harden was scheduled to pitch tomorrow but is expected to miss the game after leaving his last start with stiffness in his right shoulder. He underwent a magnetic resonance imaging test that didn't reveal any structural damage, and he played catch on flat ground Saturday and yesterday. Oakland went 4-2 against the Orioles last season, winning the season series for the eighth consecutive year. The A's won two of three in their first meeting at Camden Yards. The Orioles are 8-23 against Oakland at home since 2000, and 18-44 overall.
