Storm drenches Maryland

A storm that stirred up tornadoes in Texas and flooded parts of West Virginia dumped almost 3 inches of rain on Maryland, knocking out power to about 6,000 residents.

6 indicted in school death

A Carroll County grand jury indicted six former staff members at the Bowling Brook Preparatory School on charges of reckless endangerment in the death of an East Baltimore teenager who was being restrained.

Teens arrested in acid burning

Two teenage boys were arrested and later charged as adults in the chemical burning of a toddler last weekend at a Baltimore County playground.

Suspect spurs lockdown

Thousands of students at eight Anne Arundel County schools were locked down for several hours after a man wanted in a shooting showed up at a high school in women's clothing and asked to see a student, authorities said.
