Search technology to be discussed

The Anne Arundel Tech Council will hold "Hot Markets," a panel discussion on the latest in data search technologies, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Maritime Institute of Technology, 692 Maritime Blvd., Linthicum.

The event is $30 for members; $45 for nonmembers.

Black Women Inc. planning seminar

The Anne Arundel County chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. will hold a seminar on female-owned businesses at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1440 Dorsey Road, Hanover.

Female entrepreneurs will offer business startup tips and hold workshops.

Divine Planet, a boutique, will hold its opening reception at 6 p.m. Thursday at 57 Maryland Ave., Annapolis.

College to sponsor Business Expo

Anne Arundel Community College's Entrepreneurial Studies Institute will sponsor Business Expo 2007 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the Career Center, 100 College Parkway, Arnold.

The expo is a showcase for AACC's students, alumni and employees who have business ventures to offer.

Summit scheduled on transportation

The Corridor Transportation Corp., Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce, BWI Business Partnership Inc. and the Fort Meade Alliance will host "Moving Mid-Maryland: Baltimore-Washington Corridor Transportation Summit" from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the BWI Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum.

Fort Meade, state to hold job fair

The Maryland Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation, and the Fort Meade Morale, Welfare and Recreation will sponsor a community job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Club Meade, 6600 Mapes Road.

There will be over 4,000 open positions for recruitment.

Job seekers should bring resumes and come prepared for on-the-spot interviews.

Business leaders to honor educators

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold the Excellence in Education Awards Dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday at BWI Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum.

Members are encouraged to show support for the county's educators and business-school partnerships.
