12 score as Terps dominate Loyola

The No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (13-1) got goals from 12 different players in a 20-7 home rout of the Loyola Greyhounds (2-11).

Lauren Cohen had four goals for the Terps, and Krista Pellizzi added two goals and two assists.

Casey Magor also scored a hat trick, and Mollie Reese had a goal and three assists.

The Terps outshot Loyola 42-21.

Kate McHarg had five goals for the Greyhounds, with Colleen O'Keefe scoring the other two.

Loyola's Karen Nicolaus had 10 saves, and the Terps got a combined eight saves from three different goaltenders.

Maryland led 12-1 at the half. The Terrapins travel to Evanston, Ill., to take on No. 1 Northwestern on Monday.

Old Dominion 9, Towson 8 -- Ashley Kellogg had three goals to lead the Lady Monarchs (5-5, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) to a road win over the Tigers (4-7, 1-1). Old Dominion led by three in the second half, but Towson twice cut the lead to one. Caroline Jacobs and Katie Veneziale scored two goals apiece for the Lady Monarchs, and Hillary Fratzke led all Tigers with two goals and two assists. Sara Larson had 16 saves for Old Dominion, and Towson got six from Mandy Corry. Towson will host William and Mary tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Mount St. Mary's 11, Monmouth 8 -- Casey Paris had five goals and an assist for the host Mountaineers (6-6, 6-0 Northeast Conference). Three came in the Mount's seven-goal second half after the teams played the first half to a 4-4 tie. Katelyn Catanese also tallied two goals and an assist for Mount St. Mary's. Ashley Waldman and Megan Nutter each had a hat trick for the Hawks (11-4, 5-1).
