Duffy hits 100 points

Mount St. Mary's took a four-goal lead into the half and held on to defeat host Quinnipiac, 9-8, yesterday in a Northeast Conference women's lacrosse game.

Jenna Duffy scored twice to reach 100 points for her career for the Mount (4-6, 4-0). Katie Falatach and Rebecca Douglass added one goal and two assists apiece.

Katy Delagi and Tiffany Manzi each scored two goals for the Bobcats (6-4, 4-1).

Quinnipiac cut Mount St. Mary's lead to one midway through the second half, but failed to tie the game after taking only two shots the final 11 minutes.

Mount goalie Jane Karger recorded nine saves.

Catholic 22, Villa Julie 11 -- Kate Robinson scored eight goals as the host Cardinals (9-3, 4-2 Capital Athletic Conference) rolled past the Mustangs (4-9, 1-5). Cat Connelly had three goals and one assist for Villa Julie, and goalie Kaitlin Brzozowski had nine saves.

Ferrum 10, Hood 8 -- Stephanie Perih scored four goals to lead the visiting Panthers (5-7) past the Blazers (2-4). Laurie Burrier paced Hood with two goals, and goalie Lauren Lieb recorded five saves.
