Fatal Song Choice:

"Smile"

What Went Wrong:

With standards as the theme this week, the deck was really stacked against our resident rocker. We had already seen her fall short in the semifinals trying to be versatile, so song choice was paramount. Some creative cheating was definitely in order. (Last year's Chris Daughtry elevated it to an art form.) But instead of sneaky, we got simple.

Shining Moment:

Last week, she soared vocally, getting the mix of rock and power pop just right. Her song choice (The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You") fit even better than her pleather outfits.

In Danger:

Haley Scarnato continues to bore the Idol voters and now the judges as well. Phil Stacey's grim performance earned him another slot in the bottom three.
