The release of the seventh and final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is just a few months away, and to give millions of faithful fans something to chew on while they wait, the publisher last week released the book's front and back covers.

In a first for the Potter books, the cover is a wrap-around, with the 17-year-old Harry featured with his arm reaching upward. The structures around Harry show evident destruction and in the shadows behind him, we see outlines of other people.

On the back is a powerful image of Harry's nemesis through the series, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, with his hands outstretched toward Harry.

Once again, the cover art was created by Mary GrandPre, the illustrator of the U.S. editions of all six previous books.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, J.K. Rowling's sixth Harry Potter book, was released on July 16, 2005, and was the fastest-selling book in history, with 6.9 million copies purchased in the first 24 hours. The final book is due in stores July 21 at 12:01 a.m.
