Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Double shooting -- Two men were shot about 9:20 p.m. yesterday in East Baltimore and taken to hospitals for treatment. The victims, both described as in their 20s, were standing in the 1000 block of E. Preston St. when two gunmen fired several shots, hitting one man in the right arm and the other in the left arm and chest. The man shot in the arm was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, while the other was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Their conditions were not available late last night.


Murder suspect sought -- Police are seeking Kenneth Mahai Jr., 28, originally from the Bronx, N.Y., who is charged in a warrant with the fatal stabbing Oct. 25, 2005, of Jermaine Morrison, 24, during a drug dispute in the 1700 block of Malvern St., near Holabird Industrial Park. Metro Crime Stoppers, 410-276-8888, is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to Mahai's arrest and indictment.

Robbery/stabbing -- A 23-year-old man was walking in the 300 block of S. Eaton St. about 7 p.m. Wednesday when he was attacked by several teenagers and robbed of $20. One of the assailants stabbed him several times in the left side with a sharp weapon. The victim ran home, where police found him in his living room bleeding from the wounds. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment.


Homicide arrest -- Keith Vaughn of the 4500 block of Pen Lucy Road was arrested about 9 a.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of Beechwood Ave. by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a warrant charging him with the first-degree murder. Vaughn, 24, is charged with fatally shooting Antonio Raheem Brown, 16, of the 4200 block of Ethland Ave., in the 100 block of Diener Place on Sept. 6. Vaughn was being held without bail at Central Booking and Intake Center. Police had no motive for the slaying.


Arrest -- James Cotton Jr., 20, was arrested about 4 a.m. yesterday at his Silver Spring home by Montgomery County police and members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a warrant charging him with the armed robbery Jan. 25 of a man in the 4200 block of Diller Ave.


Arrest -- Police were in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Ave. about 6 a.m. yesterday when they spotted and arrested James McMullen, 29, on a warrant charging him with robbing another man of $100 Jan. 27 at or near McMullen's home in the 1000 block of Tiffany Court.


Burglary -- Someone entered a house under renovation in the 2300 block of Bayleaf Court through a rear door between March 1 and March 11 and removed three toilets. The burglary was reported Wednesday.

Robbery -- Police were seeking a gunman who entered Dunkin' Donuts in the 2000 block of Maryland Ave. about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday and removed an undisclosed sum of money from a cash register.

Robbery -- A driver for Yellow Cab was parked at a gas station in the 5100 block of York Road about 11 p.m. Tuesday when he was assaulted by another man and robbed of an undisclosed sum of money.

Theft -- Tools and a cell phone -- all valued at nearly $1,600 -- were stolen Wednesday from a Buick LeSabre parked in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North.


Robbery -- A 34-year-old man was walking in the 2500 block of W. Patapsco Ave. about 3 a.m. Wednesday when a gunman wearing an Army fatigue jacket robbed him of three keys and a cell phone.

Baltimore County


Robbery attempt -- Police were seeking two men, one armed with a handgun, who forced their way into an apartment in the first block of Queentree Court about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and attempted to rob a 39-year-old man and 28-year-old woman. Police said the gunman and his accomplice fled moments later without harming the occupants or stealing anything, however.


Armed robbery -- Two men, one with a handgun and the other a shotgun, entered Taco Bell in the 6800 block of Loch Raven Blvd. in Hillendale about 2 a.m. Tuesday while several employees were closing early because of a power failure. After forcing the employees into a freezer, the men, each wearing a red bandana over his face, fled with an undisclosed sum of money from cash registers.

White Marsh

Burglary -- A digital video disc player, medication, alcoholic beverages and a radio -- all worth $450 -- were stolen Tuesday night from a house in the 5100 block of Clifford Road by someone who entered through a rear door.

Burglary -- Someone entered a house in the 5800 block of Daybreak Terrace through a rear kitchen window Wednesday and removed cash and jewelry -- all valued at nearly $5,500.


Burglary -- Copper wiring and copper tubing -- all valued at $200 -- were removed over the weekend from an air conditioner at house under construction in the 2000 block of Holly Ridge Court. The air conditioner was destroyed.
