The 6-foot-9 senior All-Metro selection averaged more than 20 points and 10 rebounds as the No. 1 Owls went 1-2 in last weekend's Alhambra Catholic Invitational at Frostburg State. The Syracuse-bound center was named to the all-tournament team. Greene will play in next Wednesday's McDonald's All-American Game in Louisville, Ky., as well as the April 21 Jordan Brand All-American Classic at New York's Madison Square Garden. He also has been chosen to the USA Basketball junior national team that will compete against a squad of international all-stars April 7 at the 10th annual Nike Hoop Summit in Memphis, Tenn. In the Alhambra opener, a 70-46 rout of St. John's of Washington, Greene had a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds. In Friday night's 80-69 loss to Neumann-Goretti of Philadelphia, he scored 18 and grabbed 14 rebounds. And in Saturday night's 58-56 loss to DeMatha, Greene scored 22.

The 6-foot senior guard was named All-Metro Player of the Year for a second straight season after averaging 22.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals in leading the No. 4 Owls (19-7) to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference semifinals. The Maryland-bound Owl will showcase her many skills in the coming weeks, participating in next Wednesday's McDonald's All-American Game in Louisville, Ky., and then going to Cleveland on March 31 to play in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association High School All-America Game at the NCAA Final Four. Strickland was equally effective shooting from the outside or penetrating inside, finishing her four-year career with 2,056 points in IAAM play. She spent her first two seasons at St. John's in Frederick.
