TAMPA, Fla. -- South Florida went on a 20-3 run in the final 11 minutes of the game to beat Coppin State, 66-49, in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament last night at the Sun Dome.

Rashida Suber scored 20 points for Coppin on 7-for-13 shooting from the field.

The Lady Eagles out-rebounded South Florida 45-40, led by Whitney Cunningham's 11.

Senior All-America and Player of the Year candidate Jessica Dickson scored 24 points and had eight rebounds for South Florida. Dickson was 10-for-10 at the free throw line.

The Bulls and Lady Eagles had a seesaw battle for the first eight minutes of the game, with each team gaining a three-point lead at least once.

After South Florida took a one-point advantage at 11:54, Coppin State never went ahead the rest of the game.

Dickson had 11 points and Nalini Miller (Capitol Heights) had seven blocks in the first 20 minutes of the game.

After trailing by six at the half, the Lady Eagles tied the game with nine minutes remaining, but South Florida went on a 20-3 run to end the game with a 17-point victory.

Miller had nine blocks, a career-high and a school single-game record, and scored six points and pulled down six rebounds.

For South Florida, senior guard Rachel Sheats had 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Sophomore guard Shantia Grace had four assists and scored seven points.

The Bulls will travel to Charlottesville to play Virginia in the third round of the WNIT on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers defeated Charlotte, 74-72, in their second-round game in Charlottesville.
