Aquatics center to open in May at club in Bel Air

The Maryland Golf and Country Clubs will open its new $750,000 aquatics center this spring.

The aquatics center will be home to the club's swim teams and recreational swimmers.

The 5,500-square-foot pool will have a diving area, slides, an umbrella-shaped waterfall for children and 12,000 square feet of deck area.

A snack bar, a canopied picnic area, a grill and a shaded bistro-style dining area suitable for families also will be available. Poolside parties and special events are being planned.

The aquatics center is open only to members of the Maryland Golf and Country Clubs, in Bel Air off MacPhail Road.

The pool is expected to open at the end of May.
