Center to honor Sept. 11 victim

Fort Meade will dedicate its Human Resources Center to Master Sgt. Max Bielke, a Vietnam veteran who died in the Sept. 11 attack on the Pentagon, at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Building 2234, Fort Meade.

This was the last place that Bielke, an advocate for soldier's rights, was assigned before retiring in 1974, and where he spent time volunteering.

Chamber schedules events

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce at 49 Old Solomons Island Road, Suite 24, Annapolis will hold the following events:

A seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Small Business Development Center.

Government Matters committee will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A lead's luncheon will be held at noon Thursday. Fee.

The Education Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. March 27.

A power breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. March 28 at the Crofton Country Club, 1691 Crofton Parkway. Fee. Registration is required for most events.

Networking group to hold visitors day

Business Networking Inc. will hold a visitors day from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. March 29 at Bob Evans Restaurant, 2402 Brandermill Blvd. in Gambrills.

Breakfast will be provided, while entrepreneurs network.

The cost is $10.

Luncheon slated for Thursday

The West County Chamber Business Exchange, 8379 Piney Orchard Parkway, Suite E in Odenton, will hold a joint luncheon with the North Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce at noon Thursday at East West Bistro, 8151 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.

There will also be a breakfast meeting to kick off the membership drive from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. March 28 at the Key West Restaurant, 7253 Parkway Drive, Hanover.

The cost is $30 for nonmembers and $20 for members for both events.

Career seminar for women of color

Bringing On New Direction Inc., a nonprofit resource for women of color, will hold its first career seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14 at 1490 Matthews Town Road, Hanover.

"Success: A Journey, Not a Destination" will provide career information on how to market yourself, resume development, effective interviewing, salary negotiating and how to advance in corporate America.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The cost is $10, and registration is required.
