Pairsuits Partners to hold session

The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region will hold a Pairsuits Partners information session from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 4513 Philadelphia Road (Route 7) in Aberdeen.

Pairsuits is a partnering opportunity for volunteers that matches two people who share common interests, goals, dreams or passions for shared pursuits.

Free health screenings planned

Upper Chesapeake HealthLink's New Medical Mobile Van will be in the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center's parking lot M, MacPhail and Tollgate roads, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 27.

Free blood pressure, sleep disorder and body fat analysis screenings will be offered.

Also available are cholesterol screenings for $10; osteoporosis screenings for $15; and cardiac risk assessments for $20 (cash or check only).

Group to discuss well-being, peace

Upper Chesapeake Health will offer "A Course in Miracles" conducted by Dr. Dahlia Hirsch.

The group meets weekly to discuss the Course in Miracles book.

The guest lecturer for the March 29 session at 7 p.m. will be Jim Goldstein, who will discuss forgiveness and how it can increase well-being and peace, even under the most difficult circumstances.

`Be Wined, Be Dined' raffle tickets

The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region is selling "Be Wined, Be Dined" raffle tickets in conjunction with its annual fundraiser, the After dArc Celebrity Chef and Auction Event on March 31.

After dArc will be from 7 p.m. to midnight at Maryland Golf & Country Clubs in Bel Air. This year's celebrities include Art Donovan, Tom Matte and Toni Linhart, former Baltimore Colts players; and newscasters from three local television stations.

Harford County celebrities will join them in creating American and international cuisine.

The evening will include a live and silent auction with basket competition, wine tastings, a martini bar and dancing to the music of Tony Berry and New Money.

A "One Enchanted Evening" attraction will be a local artist's rendition of the event being auctioned off at the end of the night.

The raffle will feature a grand prize of $1,500 in gift certificates to area restaurants. Tickets are $10, or five for $25. Winners need not be present at After dArc to win.

After dArc tickets are $125.

Upper Chesapeake offers free support

Upper Chesapeake Health offers various support groups and classes that are free to the public.

Many support groups for specific diseases and medical problems meet at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Ohers meet at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace.

The Upper Chesapeake Family Birthplace also offers classes and support groups for expectant parents, new parents and pregnant teenagers at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

Bereavement support groups for parents who have lost a child and adults who have been widowed are also available.

Upper Chesapeake HealthLink also provides free blood pressure screenings throughout Harford County.
