Tyler's Grocery forced to relocate

March 18, 2007

As reported March 21, 1984, in The Howard County Sun:

Tyler's Grocery Store, which has served part of Ellicott City for 38 years, is being forced to relocate to make way for a housing development.

The old wooden building at 5061 Montgomery Road is the only grocery store in an area that includes such communities as Worthington, Montgomery Knolls, and Ilchester and Landing roads.

The development -- Stonehill Farm Inc. -- will feature 50 detached houses selling on approximately half-acre lots for a minimum of $110,000.
