FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The opinions differed slightly. After an outing in which he gave up four earned runs on nine hits and two walks in just four innings, Steve Trachsel felt that "a lot of good things happened," citing the number of groundballs he induced.

Orioles manager Sam Perlozzo acknowledged that the rock-hard infield and some loose defense cost his pitcher several runs, but called Trachsel's outing "just OK."
