Paul L. Heiges, 89

Paul L. Heiges, a retired oil company analyst, died of heart failure Saturday at Augsburg Lutheran Home and Village. He was 89.

Mr. Heiges was born and raised in York County, Pa. After graduating from high school, he was a reporter for the Mechanicsburg, Pa., newspaper. He served stateside as an Army master sergeant from 1942 to 1946.

In 1946, he went to work for Amoco, eventually becoming a financial analyst in the company's Baltimore office. He retired in 1980.

A longtime Towson resident who moved to the Lochearn retirement community in 2001, he enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and collecting antique clocks.

He was a member of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, 5513 York Road in Govans, where services were held Wednesday.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Geraldine "Jerry" Fishel; a daughter, Lisa H. Hopps of Eldersburg; and two grandsons.
