Salisbury dominates, 21-5

Late score lifts Hopkins women to win

Ryan DeRose won 13 of 15 faceoffs, lifting Salisbury (6-0) to a 21-5 victory over visiting Ohio Wesleyan (2-2) yesterday.

Teammate Ryan Brown won 10 of 12 and the Sea Gulls took 26 of 30 against the Battling Bishops.

Salisbury scored the game's first 12 goals.

Matt Hickman, Greg Titus and Eric Bishop combined for 15 points.

Women

Johns Hopkins 15, Ohio State 14 -- The Blue Jays (4-1, 1-0 American Lacrosse Conference) defeated the host Buckeyes (2-1, 0-1) after Kirby Houck scored the winning goal with 12 seconds left. Sam Schrum and Mary Key each had a team-high five points for Hopkins.

Old Dominion 11, UMBC 10 -- Despite a four-goal effort by midfielder Kara Dorr and a four-goal second-half lead, the Retrievers (3-4) fell to visiting Old Dominion (2-0). Jen Kasper had a season-high four points on two goals and two assists. Ali Levendusky posted a pair of goals.

Rutgers 10, Loyola 8 -- Four players scored two or more goals for the Scarlet Knights (4-1, 1-0 Big East) as they beat the host Greyhounds (1-3, 0-1). Brooke Cantwell had three goals. Mary Cryan, Nina Frankoski and Katy Lawrence had two goals each.

Richmond 16, Mount St. Mary's 3 -- Mandy Friend led the Spiders (4-3) with five goals and one assist as they defeated the visiting Mountaineers (0-4).

Notre Dame 17, North Carolina Wesleyan 10 -- Four players scored three or more goals for the Gators (3-0), led by four each from Tina Money and Anne Shippen, as they defeated the host Bishops (1-5).
