A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a man in Pumphrey on Tuesday, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

Daniel Lawson, of no fixed address, was arrested in Glen Burnie yesterday on charges of first- and second-degree murder. Police said he formerly lived in Baltimore and frequents the Pumphrey area.

Police responding to a report of an assault and home invasion in the first block of Nann Ave. at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday found the body of James William Fabian, 36, of the 4200 block of Twin Circle Way in Halethorpe.

He had suffered several gunshot wounds.

Witnesses told police that several people had entered the home, assaulted the occupants and fled. Investigators believe the victim knew the attackers, police said.
