Halethorpe man, 36 found shot to death

A Halethorpe man was found shot to death in a Pumphrey home early yesterday, Anne Arundel County police said.

Officers said they found the body of James William Fabian, 36, of the 4200 block of Twin Circle Way at 2:20 a.m. in a trailer park on Nann Avenue. Several people inside the home said they had been assaulted in a burglary, police said.

Detectives think Fabian knew his assailants. They have not identified suspects or determined a motive.

Relatives reached at Fabian's home yesterday afternoon declined to comment.

Police ask that anyone with information call the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 410-222-3566 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.

Harford churches burglarized

Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff's Office are investigating break-ins at three churches over the past week.

Each incident occurred at night, Sgt. Christina Presberry, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said yesterday.

The burglaries were reported Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bel Air, Saturday at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Fallston and Monday at Hope of Faith Community Church in Joppa, Presberry said.

"We don't know yet whether or not they were connected, but it's very unusual to get three breaking-and-enterings of churches in a short period of time like that," Presberry said.
